Bio:
I live in Portland Oregon where we have the most trees within a city. We have the largest park within city limits in the country. I live on the edge of this park and have deer, raccoons, coyotes, and occasionally mountain lions in the park behind our house. It's a problem in the summer when the deer eat our garden.

Thesis statement: Because they preserve the natural resources that are native to the Earth. This is important because it is our home. We want to take care of our home.
Statement of the problem: In this time in the life of our planet it is being asked to support billions of people.
Argument 1: - supporting facts The Columbia Gorge was formed by eons of water cutting through the rock. It represents the history of our planet. During the time that it has been around it has transformed over time. It reminds us of time.

Almost miliseconds ago in terms of the time of history, Lewis and Clark came through the Columbia River Gorge. Can you imagine what that was like?
Argument 2: - supporting facts There is a nuclear power plant on the Columbia River. This is the Hanford Nuclear power plant. It is where there This is a threat to the health of the river and to the area around it. There have also been dams built on the river. This is very damaging to the salmon population. The fish can not get to their spawning grounds. This has led to a depletion of Salmon in the Pacific ocean.

There are also conflicts over the water rights. Farmers want water for their fields and fishermen want water for the fish.
Argument 3: - supporting facts There need to be many community forums that help people see that they share the sesources. they share the basic need to know the land and be supported by it and to support it. The need to think about the time that the gorge has been forming.

Human conflict helps to bring awareness about ourselves, our neighbours, and ourselves.
